[edit] Admiral Ackbar B-Wing Design
The article says that the B-wing was "Personally designed by Commander Ackbar". This is not true because Commander Ackbar is a fictional character. Which real-life human being came up with the design (or were the later models simply credited to Lucasarts as a whole, perhaps so that toy royalties etc would not have to be shared with the designer)? - The latter, I believe. I haven't yet seen any information on who created it- obviously it was created prior to Return of the Jedi, but that's about all I've found. Possibly Star Wars Chronicles has some information, but I haven't been able to get my hands on that particular rare book. --maru (talk) contribs 01:00, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Origins
Where did the statement about its initial testing come from? "This single starfighter was then sent on a test mission to destroy an entire TIE fighter staging area" Was this from the EU or is it just a fanboy fantasy? Because militarily, the last thing any credible military force is going to do is send their new secret weapon into an incredibly risky situation (alone and outnumbered no doubt dozens to one), lest it fail in real combat and the enemy recover the wreckage to their advantage. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.235.149.194 (talk • contribs). 03:44, 11 July 2006
- Dunno. Wookieepedia doesnae have it, and I've never heard that, and it doesn't appear in any of my reference works like the Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels. It should probably be removed. And while your point about credible militaries is well-taken, but it apparently is canon that exactly that was done with the early TIE Phantoms. --maru (talk) contribs 04:34, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Plagarized statements?
The statements "The B-wing is one of the Rebellion's most heavily-armed starfighters." and "Because the cockpit is surrounded by a unique gyrostabilization system, the pilot always remains stationary, even as the rest of the ship rotates during flight." were taken directly from the description of the B-wing in the Gamecube game Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader. 24.50.211.226 13:47, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
