Béla Czóbel

Béla Czóbel (1883-1976) was a Hungarian painter. He was a student of Béla Iványi Grünwald in the Nagybánya free school. He was enrolled in the Julian Academy in Paris in 1903 as a pupil of Jean Paul Laurens. His style refelcts the principles of the Nagybánya school. He met painters of the Fauves group in 1905 and thusly incorporated the strong colors in his works.
