[edit] Image:Ioannes Paulus PP. II.jpg
Can you please tell us where you got the image for John Paul II? Did you create it, or did you find it somewhere? We can't use copyrighted material. RickK 05:56, Feb 3, 2005 (UTC)
I found this photo from the Vatican website, under their listing of photos of Pope John Paul II.
[edit] Ioannes Paulus PP. II
I found this image for the same place I found the first one (Official Image of Pope John Paul II), at the Vatican website, www.vatican.va. When I uploaded it this time I was unable to give it any caption. Thanks.
Please indicate on the Image page where it comes from, please indicate what its copyright status is. Otherwise, I will revert it again. RickK 18:09, 4 Feb 2005 (UTC)

I understand Italian mainly by analogy with other Romance languages, so I want to clarify this before I say anything further. Do I correctly understand your comment on this image to be saying that it's copyright to L'Osservatore Romano? TCC (talk) (contribs) 12:38, 3 December 2005 (UTC)
- Actually, I've discovered an English translation of the message at the bottom of this page so I see that my understanding was correct. Unfortunately, I will have to tag the image accordingly. TCC (talk) (contribs) 03:37, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

I found this photo at the Vatican website (www.vatican.va) under the lisintgs of photos of Pope Joh Paul II. I believe it may be copyrighted by the Vatican Press Office, but if we properly acknowledge it, may it be used on the profile? I think its a wonderful picture and would love to see it on Wikipedia. Thank you for your help.
- It is indeed a nice picture, but the text you yourself placed on the description page, of which I posted an English translation, indicates that any such use is prohibited without explicit permission, acknowledged or not. Much as I'd like it used here, I just don't see how we can legally do that. TCC (talk) (contribs) 23:38, 9 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, please don't keep adding that picture to the Pope John Paul II article. As you can see from the messages here, there are problems with copyright, and also, as you can see from the Pope John Paul II talk page, there is no agreement to change the picture. Please discuss it on that talk page before trying to make a change. Thanks. AnnH (talk) 01:05, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
- And please sign your name at the end of your posts on talk pages. If you type four tildes like this ~~~~ , they will automatically expand into your username and the date. It makes it easier for people reading the posts later. Thanks. AnnH (talk) 02:00, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
Thank you for the advice. I'm still trying to leanr and I want to do all this properly so we may create better pages. AZEmpires 02:18, 10 December 2005 (UTC)

Sorry, this is the other one. It's plainly the same image, and the website where you found it obviously got it from the same place you did. TCC (talk) (contribs) 09:12, 10 December 2005 (UTC)
