Azeezaly Jaffer

Azeezaly S. Jaffer (born circa 1955) was Vice President of Public Affairs and Communications for the United States Postal Service from 1999 until his abrupt resignation on June 30, 2006.

Jaffer was facing allegations of sexual misconduct towards two female employees and misuse of postal service funds. On August 21, 2006 USA Today reported on more than $46,000 in questionable spending by Jaffer, including $8252 spent on a Washington, DC hotel suite located just nine miles from his home and $3486 on steak dinners and bar tab at the Peking Gourmet Inn, in Falls Church Virginea, to celebrate the release of a new US Postal Service Ronald Reagan tribute stamp.

He left the Postal payroll on September 1st with a salary of $164K per year. He also received $53K vacation pay when he left.
