Azare

Azare is a town in Bauchi State, Nigeria.

Azare is located at 11°40′27″N, 10°11′28″ECoordinates: 11°40′27″N, 10°11′28″E, at an elevation of 436 meters. [1] With an estimated population growth from 69,035 as of the 1991 census to its current estimated value of 110,452 [2] it the largest of several nearby towns in the region including Jemma, Disina, Faggo, Foggo, Zadawa, and Madara. Azare is home to the Federal Government College [3] and about 10 km southeast of the town lies the Azare Airstrip.

The people of Azare of predominantly Muslim, and are primarily of Hausa, Fulani, and Beriberi descent, and the town's primary economic activity is agriculture. [4]
