Ayr academy

Ayr Academy is one of the oldest schools in Scotland. It is situated in the centre of the historic town of Ayr in the South West of Scotland. The School has been reported to be founded in the year 1233. The building today however, was was built in the year 1880 and the back extention was added onto the school in the early 1960s. It is a comprehensive school which takes children from the ages of 11 - 18 from Ayr and the surrounding area.
At present around 800 pupils go to the school.
The School's motto is "Respice, Prospice" which means "Look Backwards, Look Forwards".
