Awvee Storey (born April 18, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American professional basketball player. He is currently suspended by NBDL and NBA for punching teammate Martynas Andriuskevicius during practice for Dakota Wizards of the NBDL. [1] Awvee Storey also played for NBA's New Jersey Nets and Washington Wizards. He attended the University of Illinois and Arizona State University.

[edit] Problems

Storey's punch during practice on December 21, 2006, resulted in "a skull fracture, severe concussion and a two-centimeter hematoma on the left side of his brain" for the 7'2" Martynas Andriuskevicius.[2] A criminal investigation was not undertaken because Andriuskevicius did not wish to file a complaint. Storey was subsequently suspended indefinitely while an investigation by both the NBA and the NBDL takes place. [3] Andriuskevicius has said that Storey has yet to apologize for the incident [1].

"Storey and Washington Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas were arrested over Memorial Day (2006) weekend in Miami Beach for refusing to obey police. The charges later were dropped."[4]
