[edit] Some changes
i've deleted the refrence to the common misconception that geffen that geffen refused to serve in the IDF, and added the real reason for him not serving. also, i've added the fact that he is the son of Yonathan geffen. --Captain Proton
[edit] Political association
As a non-Israeli I am a bit puzzled by the line "he associates with the Israeli right " with the last two words linking to "Israeli peace movement". Is this due to vandalism or am I missing something? Thermaland 12:11, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oops, Israeli left! I am directionally disabled when it comes to translating. Thanks for the correction! Yodaat 13:08, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
- PS- The association comes from the Hebrew WP; Israeli left is interwikied to Israeli peace camp. If someone feels it should be linked elsewhere, feel free... Yodaat 00:21, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Phrasing
...and for this reason he is considered one of the most hated from one side and loved from other side singers in israel.
The phrasing in the sentence above doesn't seem very encyclopedic to me. I am - unfortunately - not very familiar with Aviv Geffen and am therefore not comfortable with changing the article without prior consultation. Would it be safe to say that he's a controversial and/or polarising media figure in Israel? autocratique ✩✩✩ 16:38, 15 March 2007 (UTC)
- Definitely safer than using "hated", which was added by an unknown IP and seems pretty POV. I'm changing it to controversial for now; I'll check it out more thoroughly. Yodaat 21:29, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

- Thanks, it sounds much better now. =] autocratique ✩✩✩ 22:05, 15 March 2007 (UTC)

- You're welcome. : ) I changed the reason to his refusal to serve (rather than his singing about it) because this is what I found when searching it (Jewish Virtual Library, etc -- they might've all been copied from the same one or two sources). Perhaps this should be moved to the biography section, together with a few facts about his early years, parents, etc. Does anyone know how his mother's name is transliterated? Thanks.
