Aviogenex is an airline based in Belgrade, Serbia. It operates regular and ad hoc charter flights, as well as ad-hoc charters and aircraft wet-lease services. Its main base is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.

The airline was established in April 1968 and started operations in May 1968. It was founded as the air transport division of Generalexport, an enterprise for foreign and domestic trade, tourism and air transport. The first flight was made March 3, 1969 with Tupolev Tu-134 aircraft.
The best year for the company was 1990 when the company had 633,932 passengers, flying 10 aircraft (5 Boeing 727 and 5 Boeing 737) reaching 17,000 flight hours per year. Due to UN sanctions, international flight operations were suspended from June 1992 to October 1994. Operations again ceased following the Kosovo conflict, but restarted from November 2000.
Currently, Aviogenex have 212 employees and 1 airplane, a Boeing 737. It is 100% owned by the Genex Holding Corporation.

[edit] Sold aircraft
On September 26, 2006 Aviogenex sold it’s 3 Boeing 727-200ADV's to American company Pennant Aviation for $543.000 USD. The registrations of the aircraft were YU-AKM, YU-AKD and YU-AKH.[citation needed]

Once again, Aviogenex have wet leased their Boeing 737-200 (YU-ANP) aircraft to Sudan Airways on a 1 year contract.
[edit] Pilots undergoing transition course
As Aviogenex have sold the remaining 3 Boeing 727-200ADV's in September 2006, the pilots will undergo a transition course for the Boeing 737 aircraft. On February 5, 2007 the Training Center of Aviogenex in cooperation with ICTT initiated a Ground School Transition Course for the Boeing 727 pilots to be arranged in several phases. Under the leadership of Mr. Milovan Djordjevic, the ground training will take place during 13 working days in ICTT training center outfitted with the latest equipment and conditions for such kind of training. Thereafter the pilots will undergo a 56-hour simulator training and finally the flight training whereafter the trainees, first officers of Aviogenex, will be granted not only pilot licenses for flying the B737 aircraft, but will also aquire qualifications for captains on this type of aircraft.

The airplanes of Aviogenex will fly under the flagship of Serbia and Sudan from Khartoum to 25 destinations on the west coast of Africa. The airplanes of this company realized 1862 hours of flight in 2005, which means that the year 2005 was one of the most successful in 37 years of operations of the company.
Aviogenex had planned to lease aircraft type Boeing 737-300 and Boeing 737-400 and the forthcoming reorganization of company International CG, the part of which is Aviogenex. To date, no aircraft have been added to the Aviogenex fleet.
