[edit] History of Avilčiai
There were people in the environs of Avilčiai since old times. In the time of the Soviet Union occupation, this village was a beautiful center of cultural life: there was a school and a library there. People used to cluster to the get-toghethers and after finishing the jobs of husbandry. There were 21 families (95 people) living here more than 60 years ago. After the melioration the most of the people moved out because their houses were torn down. Nowadays there are no young people in Avilčiai and the school was closed.
