Avicennia nitida, commonly known as black mangrove, is a species of mangrove tree classified in the plant family Acanthaceae (formerly in the Verbenaceae or Avicenniaceae). This plant grows up in Brazil, specially in Ceará and Pernambuco states; Costa Rica; Panama; and the United States, where is typical of warmer zones. In addition, it is often used for beekeeping.
