Averatec

Averatec is a low-cost laptop computer manufacturer based in Orange County, California. Founded in 1984 as Sotec, it promoted low-cost PCs manufactured in Taiwan. In the early 2000s the company renamed itself as Averatec.

North American laptop models come with 10.6, 12.1, 13.3, 15.4 or 17 inch displays. Processors can be Intel Centrino, AMD Turion 64, or AMD Sempron. Recently released models include the 2100 with a 12.1 inch display and AMD Turion 64 processor, 4100 similar with a 13 inch display (released August 2005), and the 4200 with a 13 inch display and Centrino processor. Their systems are produced in China and Korea.

Their 1000 series is a rebadged Twinhead F10D and their 2000 series is a rebadged MSI notebook.

In August 2006, they released a portable GPS unit called the Voya 350.
