Average revenue per user

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

ARPU is an acronym for Average Revenue Per Unit or Average Revenue Per User.

This term is used by telephone carriers. This term has also become widely used in other industries including consumer Internet services. It is the revenue generated by a customer phone, pager, etc., per month. In mobile telephony, ARPU includes not only the revenues billed to the customer each month for usage, but also the revenue generated from incoming calls, payable within the regulatory interconnection regime.

A related (but less used) acronym is AMPU (Average Margin Per User).
