Dennis "Blazin'" Hazen, better known by his pseudonym Average Homeboy, was an obscure 1980s rapper from Cleveland, Ohio, who gained some belated popularity in 2006 when a music video of his began circulating on the internet.
Hazen had originally produced the video in 1989 as a demo for MTV, and later had a digital version of it posted on his website for a number of years before it attracted attention. The video depicts Hazen as an average white suburban teenager engaged in stereotypical activities such as mowing the lawn and washing a car, about which he raps. Although it became popular from people laughing at what appeared to be an inept white rapper, in a 2006 interview Hazen said that the video was intended to be comical from the start. He reportedly enjoyed his unexpected popularity, and used it as a springboard to record a new album, entitled Blaze.
