Avenue du Mont-Royal

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Avenue du Mont-Royal is a street in Montreal. The main part of the street transects the borough of Le Plateau-Mont-Royal, from Avenue du Parc at the foot of Mount Royal, for which the road is named, to rue Frontenac. Another section in Rosemont–La Petite-Patrie runs from rue Molson to boul. Pie-IX. West of Av. du Parc, the road continues into Outremont (where it becomes Boulevard du Mont-Royal), skirting the northern rim of the mountain until Av. Vincent d'Indy.

The western section of the avenue is the principal artery of the Plateau, with high concentrations of counterculture clothing stores and the like.

Mont-Royal metro station is on Av. du Mont-Royal at rue Rivard, in the Place Gérald-Godin.
