Avelinópolis is a small town and municipality in eastern Goiás state, Brazil.

Economy

The main economic activities were cattle raising, agriculture, commerce, and small transformation industries. There was a substantial informal economy. The largest employer was public administration.

There were 26,630 head of cattle (7,535 dairy cows) in 2003. The poultry industry was important with over 100,000 chicks registered in 2003.

The main agricultural products in 2003 were bananas (110 hectares planted), coffee, oranges, rice (300 hectares), sugarcane (220 hectares), beans, manioc, corn (900 hectares), and tomatoes.

In 2004 there were 103 automobiles, 20 trucks, and 109 motorcycles.
