The Avelignese Pony is an Italian version of the Haflinger.

Like the Haflinger, this pony's ancestry is found in El Bedair.

These pony's are bred with great care. They are commonly bred in Bolzano, Tuscany, and Venetia.

Avelignese Pony's are larger than Haflingers. The modern Avelignese measures an average of 14.3 hands high (59 inches).
[edit] Uses
These pony's are used as draft horses, and as a packhorse. They are a mountain horse and hardy. These animals are invaluable on farms, because they are too big.
