Ave Maria College
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ave Maria College is a private Catholic college that was founded on March 19, 1998. Its campus is in Ypsilanti, Michigan and maintains a branch campus in San Marcos, Nicaragua called Ave Maria College of the Americas. Ave Maria was founded and is largely funded by Tom Monaghan, founder of the Domino's Pizza chain. Its current president is Dr. Daniel P. Guernsey.
Ave Maria College is on the fast track to closure, as Monaghan and most of the staff transferred their efforts to Ave Maria University in Florida. Some staff and students remain, however. The remaining staff has brought up Monaghan and company on charges of breach of contract over the move.
