The Autovía C-17 connects Barcelona with Vic and Ripoll to the north in the Upper Ter Valley. It is known as the Autovía Barcelona-Puigcerda. It is only currently part motorway.
The road starts as the Avinguda Meridiana in the centre of Barcelona heading north through the suburbs close to the Autopista C-33 before crossing the Autopista AP-7.
It passes to the west of Granollers before passing the Parque Nacional de Montseny and the El Ter river basin and Vic where it is crossed by the C-25 Eix Transversal. The road heads north towards the Pyrenees and ends at Ripoll.
At Ripoll the road becomes the N-152 onwards to Puigcerda. There are also junctions with the N-260/C-26/A-26
