Autotrax
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Autotrax PCB design software was originally developed by Protel (now Altium) in the 1980's and 1990's. It is a simple down to earth PCB CAD package that is now a free download from Altium's web site. This is not to be confused with Kovac Software's "AutotraxEDA" package.
Autotrax EDA is an electronic design automation software made by Kovac Software with a download base of over 60 000 people [1], and is used in many educational institutions due to its low cost. Autotrax supports schematic and PCB design as well as SPICE simulation. The well-known Protel Autotrax and Kovac's AutotraxEDA are in no way compatible or related.
AutoTRAX EDA is owned by Ilija Kovacevic, the author of the software. Currently AutoTRAX EDA is available on Microsoft Windows platforms. However, work is well inder way in making it available on the Linux and Apple Mac OSX platorms. The multiple platform version is called Leonardo. Leonardo is currently free and available from the links below. The User group currently has 2,500 members.
