Automobile Industries Limited

Automotive Industries Ltd. (AIL) was established in 1966 by the Automotive Equipment Group as an assembly plant for cars and trucks in Nazareth Illit in northern Israel, on a 126,000 square meter site.
To date, AIL has sold over 80,000 vehicles. Initially its products were mainly for the civilian market, and included the Ford Escort, Ford Transit, and other Ford trucks and school buses. More recently, AIL has concentrated on the military market, specializing in 4x4 and 6x6 all-terrain tactical vehicles, including Jeeps, Dodge trucks, AMG M800 series tactical trucks, Navistar International and Freightliner trucks, and AIL's own design M-325 Commandcar and ABIR light tactical trucks. Currently AIL sells its products mainly to the Israel Defence Forces and police, as well as to export markets.
