Autobot City is a city in the fictional Transformers Universe. Autobot City on Earth was a center of operations for the Autobots, and later the primary base following the destruction of The Ark. Large enough to house possibly hundreds of transformers, it had laboratories, communications decks, command centers, and meeting rooms. It also had the ability to transform into a heavily armored fortress capable of holding off a sustained full-force Decepticon attack for over 24 hours. A smaller sub-section of the city can transform into the giant Autobot warrior, Metroplex. In some continuities Metroplex is the entire city, and not just a subsection. The cartoon varied on this as well from episode to episode. The destruction of his transformation cog in the opening stages of the Battle of Autobot City necessitated that the city be manually transformed to battle station mode.

The precise location of Autobot City is debatable. Some fans speculate that Autobot City, as seen in the original movie, is located near Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA, based on Autobot City being near a "Lookout Mountain" and the geographical features. Other fans point to Optimus Prime driving on the left-hand side of the road as evidence of Autobot City being in a country like Japan or Great Britain. The only directly-stated-in-the-fiction location for Autobot City is given in the Dreamwave comics as the Alaskan Wilderness, but their relevance to the original movie is debatable.

Autobot City was heavily damaged in 2005 during Battle of Autobot City.

Autobot City is not seen again until Transformers Headmasters, Metroplex is used instead maybe because the city being repaired from the events in Transformers The Movie.
