Authoring systems

The research "Intelligent tutoring system" resarch community use the term Authoring Systems to refer to computer based system that allow non-programmers (generally) to create (ie. author) content for an intelligent tutoring systems. While a few intelligent tutoring systems have been successful, the are very costly to construct.
A recent book reviews some attempts to build authoring tools.
