Talk:Australian salmon

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The picture does not accurately represent an Australian Salmon, it looks more like a Bonito (a small tuna sp.). It needs to be updated! Edit: Now updated! Como006 12:56, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

I do believe the original image to be morphologically accurate; arripids do have certain superficial similarities to scombrids. Nonetheless, I thank you for securing the use of a photograph, as they're almost always preferred over sketches. Cheers, -- Hadal 05:06, 13 April 2006 (UTC)

Hadal, whilst not argueing for the point of it, there are superficial similarities. Body shape is the most obvious. Having caught many an Australian Salmon and small scombrids ie. Australian Bonito they are quite different morphologically except as mentioned in body shape. I'm not taking the piss here, just experienced in this species! [edit] Page name

Shouldn't this page be called 'Arripidae'? Not all the fish in the family are Australian (or salmon). This doesn't seem to be in line with the other Family pages I've seen. Is there a reason? GrahamBould 16:46, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
