Australian cricket team in Pakistan in 1979-80

The Australian cricket team toured Pakistan in the 1979-80 season. The teams played three 5 day tests. Pakistan won the series 1-0. They won the first test by 7 wickets and the last two were drawn.

The first test was played at the National Stadium in Karachi on February 27 1980. The second test was played at the Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad on March 6 1980. The third test was played at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on March 18 1980.

In the second test, Greg Chappell scored 235, Graham Yallop scored 172 for Australia, while Taslim Arif scored 210 and Javed Miandad scored 106 for Pakistan. In the third test, Allan Border scored 150 and 153 in each innings for Australia, while Majid Khan scored 110 for Pakistan.

Iqbal Qasim was the leading wicket taker for Pakistan with 16 dismisals. Ray Bright took 15 for Australia.

Australia also played 2 3-day first-class matches against BCCP President's XI and Punjab Governor's XI on February 22 and March 13 1980, respectively. Both matches were drawn.
