The 1972 Ashes series between Australia and England was drawn. Each team won two test matches, and the other test was drawn:
- 1st Test (Manchester) — England won by 89 runs - [1]
- 2nd Test (Lord's) — Australia won by 8 wickets - [2]
- 3rd Test (Nottingham) — drawn - [3]
- 4th Test (Leeds) — England won by 9 wickets - [4]
- 5th Test (The Oval) — Australia won by 5 wickets - [5]
