Australian Party

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Australian Party was a shortlived party that existed from 1930 until 1931 (not to be confused with the Australia Party, which was a liberal party created in the 1960s).

It was created by former Prime Minister Billy Hughes in 1930, after his expulsion from the Nationalist Party in 1929. He was its leader until 1931 when he wound the party up and joined the newly formed UAP.
