Australian National Commission for UNESCO
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Australian National Commission for UNESCO is the Australian government organization responsible for advising on the implementation and co-ordination of UNESCO policies and programmes, both within Australia and with regard to Australia's international response. The Commission comprises a Secretariat and seventeen (17) members, and is governed under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Act, 1947 (Cwlth) and the Commission's Rules of Procedure. There have been calls for the reform of the Commission, through revised legislation, a charter and widened membership, although to date such reforms have not been instituted[citation needed].
