Australian Forces (BF2AUS) is a modification for the computer game Battlefield 2 on the PC. Battlefield 2: Australian Forces is a singleplayer and multiplayer modification for the team-based modern warfare game Battlefield 2. The aim of the Australian Forces modification is to replace the United States forces with Australian forces; including new player, weapon and vehicles skins, HUD changes, and new weapons and vehicles in future releases.
The development team aim to base the mod as closely to the real ADF as possible, although they make no excuses for sometimes sacrificing this realism to keep the gameplay balanced and fun in terms of the Battlefield 2 universe - after all, that is why people play and develop mods!

[edit] Mod History
Battlefield 2: Australian Forces was officially founded on July 18th 2005 by arkanis50, although work on the mod was well underway the day after the Battlefield 2 demo was released. Initially the first content completed was a simple reskin that turned the US flag into the Australian Flag, then it progressed onto woodland uniforms and HUD icons; the first public release of the mod was version 0.1 on the 29th of September 2005.
From that public first release, there were literally over a hundred emails and PM's of query, support and offers of help in the following weeks. Suddenly, what had started off as a one man mod team had suddenly doubled with the inclusion of Brother Estapol, who offered to help model weapons. As the months followed, several more members joined the team, each with their own unique experiences and skills... and the rest is history. They say that "from little things, big things grow", and Battlefield 2: Australian Forces has grown in leaps and bounds.
