Elections to the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly were held on Saturday, February 21, 1998. The Liberal Party of Australia under Chief Minister Kate Carnell retained all its seats despite a small swing against them, remaining in power as a minority government.
On October 18, 2000, Carnell stepped down and was replaced by Gary Humphries.
