Australian Ballet School

The Australian Ballet School was founded in 1964 as the school of The Australian Ballet. It is located at The Australian Ballet Centre, Southank in Melbourne, Victoria. The Dancers Company was set up in 1980 for graduating students. It is a member of the "Australian Roundtable for Arts Training Excellence".
The Australian Ballet draws 95% of its dancers from the School and many graduates dance as principals and soloists around the world.
Offered are
- an eight year course from age ten for gifted students
- Junior School (Levels 1-5) leading to a Certificate III in Dance. Level 5 is full time, with Year 10 academic studies conducted at the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School
- Senior School (Levels 6-8) leading to an Advanced Diploma.
