The Australian 2 cent coin was the second least valued coin until it was withdrawn from circulation in 1992.

The 2 cent coins were then melted down to make bronze medals for the 2000 Summer Olympics.

The reverse side of the 2 cent coin featured the image of a Frill-necked Lizard.
