Australia's Got Talent is an Australian reality television show which premiered on February 18, 2007 on Channel Seven at 6.30pm. It is based on the American version shown on NBC America's Got Talent. Three judges appear on the show each week to provide feedback for the contestants. The show has feautured many variety acts, and is shown on the Australian television network Channel Seven. The show is hosted by Grant Denyer.[1]
Tom Burlinson, Dannii Minogue and Red Symons are the three judges. The program has a top prize of $250,000 (AUD) for the winner.
There were four heats which saw about 20 to 25 acts competing in each heat. Approximately 60 acts in total got the approval from the judges, but only 40 were selected to compete in the semi-finals. Some of the talented acts that performed well on the heats but missed out on a semi-final placing were hip hop dancer Drumstick [1] and Contortionist Bendy Em.
In the first semi-final, pianist Max Foster won the judge's choice and viewers voted Herb Patten, the gum leaf player. In the second semi-final 'The Human Knot' Al Miller won the judge's choice. The viewers will decide on who will join the other semi-finalists in the Grand Final.
