Austin Brown, known affectionately as “Auggie ” by his family and friends, is the son of Nathaniel Brown and Rebbie Jackson - the eldest child of the musical Jackson Family. He is the younger brother of Stacee Brown (born 1971) and Yashi Brown (born 1977) who make up the girl group called "Geneva".

Austin has pretty much stayed out of the spotlight in his childhood. He did go on tour with his mother in the late 90’s and he traveled along with 3T in Europe in 1997 during the Brotherhood tour. Auggie played instruments during several showcases of Rebbie in The States in 1998 and early 2000s , but did not make many appearances in video clips or shows like many of his cousins did. He has since been working on his musical skills privately. that, he did not make many appearances in video clips (except for 2300 Jackson Street) or shows like many of his cousins did. So he has been working on his musical skills in silence. He took piano lessons for more than 10 years. With the guitar, Uncle Tito Jackson showed him to play some chords and developed from there.

In 2004, Tony Saunders from UNBEATEN TRACKS - MUSIC GROUP secured a record deal for Austin known as "Auggie". Auggie's project was sold to Midas records. Austin Brown surprised everyone when he signed with Midas Records. He had received offers from several major labels, but signed with Midas because he wanted a one-on-one relationship with the top brass. Austin has written or co-written all the tracks and provided accompaniment on guitar, piano, bass and drums. Additionally, Brown co-produced many of the album's songs, along with Midas' in-house producer/studio director Andrew Nast . Midas Records' CEO Ron Clapper is the executive producer of Austin's album, which was recorded in Midas Records' state-of-the-art studio in the San Fernando Valley.

Ron Clapper : "His integrity as a songwriter, purity as a vocalist and sincerity as a performer are qualities that are in perfect alignment with Midas Records’ artistic vision. The fact that he’s a Jackson prodigy is a nice bonus. But the fact that Austin is so completely gifted as an artist in his own right is what really sealed the deal. With his high moral character and squeaky clean lyrics, Austin is an excellent addition to the roster, and will continue the family-friendly precedent that Angel and Midas Records are establishing.".[1]

Austin Brown : "Midas and I are coming up together. It’s such an intense ground-level approach for the project. I love the staff, and they’re driven just like me. We have the same goals."In signing with Midas, Austin continues, "I feel my music will be heard and presented correctly. As a debuting artist, I am going to have more pressure on me than other new artists, just because of my family background." Well-spoken and industry savvy beyond his years, Austin continues, "The style that we are creating is really off-the-wall for my generation by taking the old school feel, updating it to today, and reminding people that it’s OK to be musical, it’s OK to play instruments, it’s OK to love melodies, do harmonies, and dance."

Austin has been writing and producing some tracks with childhood friend Brandon Howard (son of R&B vocalist Micky Howard), who has worked with Missy Elliott and Ginuwine.[2] The album Slick & Polished has never been released.
