Aussie Salute

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Aussie salute also known as the Aussie wave is a frequent and casual passing of the hand across the front of the face, usually with the palm about forehead height. Frequently done automatically, without conscious thought, it is done in an effort to get rid of the flies that cluster around peoples' faces. It is also largely ineffective, affording little more than a half second of relief. However it is a very common and very frequently observed gesture.
