Aurra Sing is a character from the Star Wars film series, created by George Lucas. She made her first appearance in the 1999 film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace

[edit] History

Aurra was raised on the mean streets of Nar Shaddaa's vertical cities. Her mother was a reprobate named Aunuanna. Found as an infant, The Dark Woman whisked Aurra to Coruscant and tried to train her. She displayed instinct and deadly reflexes, but lacked control. The Dark Woman tried to tame Aurra's aggressive instincts, and some called her Nashtah. On Ord Namurt, Aurra was kidnapped by Space Pirates, who told her lies regarding the Jedi Order. Aurra believed these lies, and at the tender age of nine, she turned her back on the Jedi order, not even having achieved the rank of Padawan.

While homing her martial arts and hunting skills, a Hutt captured Aurra, and decided she would make a good assassin, and sent her to train with the vampiric Anzati. She returned a totally different person, with no compassion left, and only Vengeful upon the Jedi. The Anzati even affixed her with a Biocomputer sensor implant, which not only increased her awareness, but also transmitted a simulated sensation of fear.

Become a bounty hunter, working for herself, she killed at least six jedi, and acquired a swoop bike and kept the six lightsabers of her opponents. Her other weapons included her own scarlet-bladed Lightsaber, twin blaster pistols and a long projectile rifle. Aurra still longed to find and exact her revenge upon the Dark Woman. Among her victims was Sharad Hett, father of A'Sharad Hett

Soon, Count Dooku requested she get as much information on the young boy Boba Fett, son of the late Jango Fett. When Aurra found out Boba was heir to a fortune, she seized the opportunity to try to kill Boba and collect the money, and on Aargau, nearly succeded, but ultimately, Boba escaped.

Aurra was later hired to assassinate a senator on Devaron, and coincidentially, the Dark Woman was on a mission there at the time. Aurra sprang a trap, which sealed off Tholme and the Dark Woman in a cave, only for Aurra to be foiled by Aayla Secura, who scarred her and severed her Biocomputer implant. Aurra was stunned, and taken into custody.

Aurra disappeared into obscurity, but is believed to have resurfaced during the Galactic Civil War in Jabba the Hutt's demolition contests.

[edit] Behind the Scenes

Aurra Sing's only appearance was a cameo scene in Phantom Menace during the Podraces. Otherwise, she is a more Expanded Universe character, often chasing after the bounty hunter Boba Fett.
