Aurelia Greene

Aurelia Greene represents District 77 in the New York State Assembly, which is comprised of several communities located within the Bronx, New York. She has been representing her current district since 1982.
Some of her past positions within the Assembly include Deputy Majority Leader and former Chairwoman of the Assembly Committee on Banks. She was also once the Chairwoman of the Standing Committeee on Consumer Affairs & Protection and Subcommittee on Adult Education. Currently, she is the Speaker Pro Tempore and the Ranking Member of both the Education Committee and Chairwoman of the Assembly's Bronx delegation.
In March of 1990, Assemblywoman Greene-along with her husband and a former Bronx school superintendent-were acquitted of criminal charges "stemming from the removal of a baby grand piano" from a public school adjacent to the house of the Greene family in 1983.
