[edit] Origins

I have only seen the 2005 movie .. I was wondering, is it clarified that he is German, from Düsseldorf in the book and in the first movie? I'm also *highly* suspicious of the Düsseldorf they showed us .. it looked (a) Bavarian (b) like a village .. Düsseldorf is neither. The stereotypes they showed us and the suits definitely were Bavarian .. I'm just wondering if they were stuck to Düsseldorf by the book but still wanted to use German clichés known to people in the US .. which will mostly be Bavarian or even Austrian or Swiss and will seem just as weird to "normal" Germans as they will to Americans

[edit] Merger

I propose that this article be merged to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory because it does not seem to have the potential to grow beyond the stub that it remains. —Theo (Talk) 14:31, 16 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] B-101

I noticed that in the 1971 film, they say Augustus is from "Dussleheim". But, as far as I'm aware, there is no such city in Germany. Were they suppose to say Düsseldorf or did they make up the town to avoid sensitivity with (back then) West Germany?- B-101 10:26, 21 August 2005 (UTC)

POrobably thought it best to create a fictional town to avoid trouble i'd agree. PMA 12:39, 11 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] The song from the 2005 movie

This may seem like a minor thing, but it drives me nuts ever so slightly... is there any particular reason why only half the song from the 2005 movie appears in the article? If it's a copyright reason, then why post any of the lyrics at all?--MythicFox 10:38, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Book Illustration

Does anyone know where an illustration of this character can be found from Quention Blake's drawing of the novel? It should be added... JackOfHearts 00:42, 24 December 2006 (UTC)
