Augusto Farfus

Augusto Farfus Jr. (born 3 September 1983 in Curitiba) is a Brazilian auto racing driver. He presently lives in Monaco.

Farfus first tasted competition in minibike races and won the local championships in 1991.
Like most current drivers, his motorsport career began with karting. In 1992, at the age of 9 years, he won the Paraná state championship (cadet class), and mainly competeted in São Paulo states championship from 1993 to 1998. In 1999 won italian winter cup and runner-up in the north american championship.

In 2000 Farfus moved to Italy and competed in Formula Renault Italian championship and eurocup series for the next two years, winning the eurocup in 2001.
For 2002 he joind Draco Racing in Euro Formula 3000. And won the title of the 2003 season at the age of 20 years.

From 2004 to 2006 a factory Alfa Romeo (N. Technology) driver in the European and World Touring Car Championships.
In the 2006 season Farfus fought for the title against Andy Priaulx and Jörg Müller till the final race in Macau, with poor Alfa Romeo 156, and ended this season in 3rd place.
As of the 2007 season, he has formally switched to the Schnitzer BMW squad, BMW Team Germany, as title aspirant alongside the incumbent German and 2006 season runner-up, Jörg Müller.
