Audic Rizk Photographs

Julie Audic and Christian Rizk, respectively French and Lebanese, both have an architectural background. They started working together about ten years ago using photography as a creative tool. Laureates of the Monbusho prize in 1998, they moved to Japan where they lived for five years developing a photographic technique enabling them to grasp the stunning dynamisms of spaces in motion.

Without touch-ups nor digital manipulation, their work tackles the questions of visibility in photography, which is expressed through forms of radiance and luminosity created by light itself. Their photos, taken at night with a long exposure time, carry within them delirious derivatives going from painting to oneirism which nonetheless embody a tangible reality.

Represented by the Christine Colas gallery in Paris, they exhibit regularly in Europe, the Middle East and Japan. Today when photography is characterised by documentaries or studio shooting, the photographic images in negative proposed by these two artists, reveal a photographic becoming difficult to categorise in the actual realm of photography.
