Auchengray railway station
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Auchengray railway station was in Auchengray, a hamlet in the Parish of Carnwath, County of South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
It is near Tarbrax and Woolfords. The railway station was on the Caledonian Railway, between Carstairs railway station and Cobbinshaw railway station, until the Beeching Axe. The Wilsontown Ironworks Branch ran from just to the north.
After Tarbrax and Cobbinshaw railway stations closed, children of the area had to walk here in all weathers to get a train to school, distances of more than three miles.
