Auchel

Auchel is a commune and the chief town of a canton of northern France, in the Pas-de-Calais département, arrondissement of Béthune.
It belongs to the Communauté d'agglomération de l'Artois which gathers 58 communes, and has a total population of approximately 200,000.
Population (1999): 11,525 inhabitants for the commune and 21,079 inhabitants for the canton.
