[edit] Album information
That's the last live album before Dion's long break. Au Cœur Du Stade was recorded at the Stade de France in Paris, during two sold-out performances on June 19 and 20, 1999. These performances made concert history as Céline Dion became the very first to draw attendance in excess of 90,000 spectators at a single show for a grand total of 180,000 in only two nights. Most of the songs on this album are live versions of tunes originally included on Dion's S'il Suffisait d'Aimer album. Au Cœur Du Stade reserves surprises like hearing Céline Dion's actual voice to sing some of her very first hits in French like "Ce N'Était Qu'un Rêve," "D'Amour Ou d'Amitié" or "Mon Ami M'A Quittée." Au Cœur Du Stade features also two English-language songs: "Let's Talk About Love" and the smash hit "My Heart Will Go On."
The disc does not contain the full show. All songs can be found on the Au Cœur Du Stade DVD, released also in 1999. Shows in Paris were a part of the Let's Talk About Love Tour.
The album was promoted by the video of Céline Dion performing "Dans un Autre Monde."
Au Cœur Du Stade was re-released in September 2004 as 2-CD set with À l'Olympia.
[edit] Chart success
The album hit #1 in three countries: France, Switzerland and Belgium. It was certified 2x platinum in France, platinum in Switzerland and Belgium, gold in Canada, and silver in Portugal. Total sales exceeded 1.5 million copies.
