Atushi Ojisama and Ijigen Waltz
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Atushi Ojisama and Ijigen Waltz (from "A Tribute to Yamasaki Atushi") is a satirical musical composition by Yamasaki Atusi. According to the score, it is arranged by accident and is based on a Cro-magnon skinning chant.
The most recognizable feature of this piece, in addition to its impossible jumps in notes and key signatures, is the face made out of music notes in the second measure of the piece, quite similar to the 'Portret van Hedwig' score by Jurriaan Andriessen.
Like many other satirical musical compositions, there are little notes written to the player instructing them to perform various activities such as "rotate one chair", or "Use a semi-full pitching wedge to back of green".
The piece features notation that is impossible to play, including large intervals.
Atushi Ojisama and Ijigen Waltz (from "A Tribute to Yamasaki Atushi") is similar to Faerie's Aire and Death Waltz with its basis on a Cro-magnon skinning chant, and the String Quartet No. 556(b) for Strings In A Minor (Motoring_Accident).
