Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Garfield wakes up one morning and goes outside to show his face to his “adoring public”. When no one appears to be around, he goes back inside, but when Odie goes outside, a big crowd of people appears. Garfield goes back outside and sees no crowd, but the crowd reemerges when Odie comes back out. Jon then announces that he has a special meal for someone, to which Garfield assumes is for him; it is then revealed that the treat is for Odie.

Garfield then greets Floyd, who asks how Odie is doing. Garfield gets angry that no one is paying attention to him; then he tries to go to sleep until Jon shows up with a new pet bed for Odie. He kicks Garfield’s bed out of the way (with Garfield in it), and it lands in the basement. Garfield and Floyd then try to ignore all this by watching Garfield and Friends, only to find that the show is now called Odie and Friends.

Floyd suggests that Garfield dress up as a mouse to get Jon’s attention, but this doesn’t work (nor does acting out a death scene or dressing up as a sheik); however, Jon reacts immediately after Odie sneezes. Garfield then decides to take advantage of the situation by stealing food around town. Afterwards, Jon apologizes to Garfield for not paying attention to him with a lasagna, but Garfield doesn’t eat it because of all he’d just eaten. Jon decides to take him to the vet until all the people that he stole food from come up, and they (and Jon) then chase him away.

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Quotes

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, Odie and Friends!
Garfield: Odie and Friends? …We are very close to the end of civilization as we know it.
[Odie opens the show]
Floyd: What a disgusting, insulting, unfair TV show. Bet it’s a hit, though.
