Atsushi Sakurai

Atsushi Sakurai(櫻井敦司, Sakurai Atsushi), vocalist for the Japanese rock band Buck-Tick since 1985. Born in Fujioka, Gunma Prefecture. He also was a member of Schwein with Hisashi Imai, Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM) and Raymond Watts (also known as PIG). In 2004, Atsushi Sakurai released his first solo album, 愛の惑星 (Planet of Love), which featured tracks written by musicians such as Wayne Hussey of The Sisters of Mercy and the Mission UK, Jim Thirwell (foetus), CUBE JUICE, My Way My Love, Ray Watts, Cloudchair (Jake of Guniw Tools), Masami Tsuchiya, and the remake of a 1992 collaboration with Clan of Xymox. 2004 also saw his acting debut, performing the starring role in Ryuhei Kitamura's short film Longinus. He released a book of his poetry and lyrics called 夜想(Nocturne) in 2004.
