I'm going to take a run at it (no pun intended) even though I know nothing about football(which is why no pun intended) and clean up for grammar, NPOV, and copyedit. If anything I do changes the meaning or content in a way that it shouldn't, please fix up after me, and let me know on my user talk page so I know where my mistakes lie... Whew! So I edited for NPOV, and made some sentences more grammatically clear. I had to remove several paragraphs almost in their entirety because I couldn't figure out how to make them npov without reducing them to only a word or two. This article also needs some more sources and someone who knows the subject better to arrange the data in a readable manner, maybe chronologically?
