Atropurpurea (elm cultivar)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Wych Elm U. glabra cultivar Atropurpurea has folded, dark-purple leaves, and is probably synonymous with Purpurea. The tree was raised from seed at Spath's Nursery, (Berlin, Germany) circa 1881 as U. montana (: glabra) atropurpurea, but was later classed as a cultivar by Boom in Ned. Dendr. 1: 157, 1959.
