[edit] Biography

Atrabilis Sunrise is the ongoing project of sound manipulator/destroyer Padre P.C. modeled in 2001 after essential elements of death industrial legend Catharsis (1996-1998) and somehow distorted derivations/deviations from its mastermind's experiences. Some would try to categorize Atrabilis Sunrise as bizarre, disturbing & unsettling industrial/electronica, from quietness to violent insanity, from ethereal atmospheres to spasms of pure psychotic noise. Paranoid, demented voices, abusive fried circuitry, lonely music box (obviously injured) melodies, twisted pop sensibilities, confusing atmospheres, distorted alien pathology, corroded beauty, brittle fragility & tortured doom: Atrabilis Sunrise is steeped in images of a starkly contrasting world, capturing sounds of madness and glorious insanity. An utterly weird, excruciatingly harrowing musical experience.(source: official website[1])

[edit] The early years : P.C.M. and limited editions

Apparently fed up with poor communication and the incredible amount of time it took for record labels to release his music during the Catharsis days, for several years Padre P.C. chose to keep Atrabilis Sunrise almost private, releasing his music through very limited CD-r editions on home label P.C.M.. This would allow him to ensure very slow production delays, and eventually lead to the shameless non-promotion line in the title of the 10-year anniversary compilation box P.C.M. & Padre P.C. present : 1996-2006 One decade of gonzo ENTARTEnment... and shameless non-promotion. Yet record deals with Alien Vibrations Records, Formosan Rec, Deserted Factory and other labels can be denoted in the band's discography.
