i love Wikipedia; i read it often and contribute when i can. i plan to write some original articles when i find a topic that i know, is of value to Wikipedia and has not yet been added.

i also agree with the critics who say that there is too much emphasis on popular culture on Wikipedia. there is nothing wrong with referencing popular topics, but i think that it is a waste of Wikipedia space to go into granular detail, when these topics are well-covered elsewhere. i think that it is appropriate to collapse these references down to short statements, and link to reliable, authoratative outside sources.

i would love to attend Wikimania 2007, but it remains to be seen if i can afford both that and Burning Man.
